Polar has been producing electronic fitness monitoring devices for years. It is no surprise that they would have an activity tracker as part of their fitness technology.
1. Tracking with the Polar Loop system
The Polar Loop Activity Tracker is a wristband + onboard “computer” that tracks your activity 24/7. View your activity progress by tapping the button located on top of the wristband. Its 85 LED display shows the time, daily activity, the number of calories burned, steps taken, and activity feedback.

The Polar Loop can also provide heart rate feedback when paired with the H6 chest strap (sold separately). Using the HR and Polar Loop Activity Tracker can provide more accurate information on the number of calories used.
Track your sleep with the Polar Loop, too. It will calculate your sleep time, estimated from your wrist movements while you sleep.
2. What’s in the box?
Your purchase includes the Polar Loop Activity Tracker, a custom USB cable, a tool (for customizing the wristband fit), and a Get Started Guide. Additional information is available at the Polar Electro website.
1. Battery life:
The Polar Loop operates on a rechargeable battery. Plug the USB cable into your computer; the “Polar-branded” magnetic end of the cable connects with the wristband for recharging. The device requires about 90 minutes to reach a full charge. A complete charge is estimated to last six days, depending on usage.
The Polar Loop is designed to track your activity 24/7, rewarding you with the red LED-version of fireworks and silent “woo-hoos!” When synchronized with the Polar Flow app via Bluetooth Smart, you can review the captured data on the Polar Flow website or your smartphone.
Wristband feedback is silent – totally LED driven. The Polar Flow does not provide any haptic vibrating alert to remind you to get moving or indicate your day’s progress.
The wristband is described by various users as comfortable and either attractive or not very aesthetically pleasing. It is a bit heavier than other wristband tracking devices. The band is made of a polyurethane (TPU) material.
The red LED readout is bright and generally easy to read even in bright ambient light. Pleasing many users, the Polar Loop is water resistant and can be used when swimming, up to 20 meters.
The Polar Loop must sync with a computer before first use. Use the custom USB cable (included) to set up and sync your Polar Loop to the free Polar Flow iOS app and training community via Bluetooth. Create a Polar Flow account at setup to access the data/support desktop.
Enter your personal data to customize the tracking feedback and establish goals. The Polar Flow wristband automatically syncs to the app and training community via Bluetooth Smart.
The wristband must be sized and cut to fit. The band is detached from the display unit and trimmed; a tool (included) is required to reattach the trimmed band to the display unit.
3. Final Verdict:
The Polar Loop Activity Tracker is a serviceable device that acknowledges your efforts and encourages you toward your goals using daily, weekly, and monthly feedback. The Polar Flow community is easily accessed through the web or app and is where you receive an accurate interpretation of your activity and training sessions as well as personalized guidance.
